Updated Vintage Patterns Galore! See All SIX Projects For the Fabricista Fashion Competition and Vote

Voting is now open for Week 5 of the Fabricista Fashion Challenge.  (Voting is closed-- you can see the winner here.) You can see all six seamstresses really lovely garments made from vintage patterns and then you can choose your favorite to win!  I made a sassy, no nonsense World War II dress from 1943.  You can read all about it and see lots of photos here.

Here is this week's challenge:
Week 5: Timeless Classics:Vintage Patterns-- 6 Seamstresses had 2 weeks to complete this challenge.  Sewing a garment from a vintage pattern is challenging. The pintucks, pleats, and precise fit can be difficult to master.  We all choose our own vintage pattern and modernized the piece. We were to update it with styling, embellishment, or fabric.
We will be judged on difficulty, craftsmanship, how fashion forward your look is, and FIT!

For my garment I focused on perfecting the fit, sewing a quality piece of clothing that will last and staying true to the spirit of the resourceful seamstress of 7 decades ago.  Plus I wanted something I can actually wear... I just can't pull off the costume-y vintage stuff like some folks can.

Only 5 seamstress will move on from this challenge!  Voting is open until Wednesday, Oct 23 at midnight EST.  The winner is announced on Thursday, Oct 24.
