Time To See Everyone's Sewing Project for This Edition of the Fabricista Fashion Challenge

I must say that this week's challenge was a bit challenging with the fabric we all worked with.  The chiffon material was surprisingly not the issue but the color and print.  But all the seamstresses really pulled through with this one and we made a diverse group of really interesting garments.  This week only 5 ladies are left in the Fabricista Fashion Challenge and we have two more projects ahead of us before someone is crowned and sashed.

Here's the lowdown on this week's project:
For this week's challenge Fabric Mart sent each of us designers another surprise.  We all received 2 panels of a striped poly chiffon.  Additional materials could be used to line the garment or to add detailing-- however, the panels must make up a majority of the piece.

I made a disco-era style dress-- you can see my blog post, review of the pattern I used and loads of images of the dress here.  It's a bit out of my comfort zone with the overlay and sleeves but I threw caution to the wind.  What I thought was going to be a horrifying mess (I really did think that at 1 am a couple nights before the deadline!!) I feel ended up to be a really fun, sassy and wearable garment for me.  We've all had those desperate sewing moments, I'm sure!  I've been learning and experimenting throughout this whole competition and just having fun with it.  I've been overwhelmed by all the supportive, helpful and just plain sweet comments by so many folks... thank you all so, so, so much.  I'm thrilled to be in the company of such talented seamstresses in these sewing challenges.  Man, and they really have some sewing skills!!  Anyhow, go check out what we all made and vote if you'd like.  Voting is open 10/29-10/30/2013.  The winner is announced on Thursday, Oct 31-- Halloween!
