Fabricista Fashion Challenge: Week 2-- The Salme Yoke Dress

Digital Sewing Pattern - Yoke DressNow that the winner was announced for week one of the Fabricista Fashion Challenge (me!) it's now time to share our next challenge.

Week 2-- The Salme Yoke Dress Challenge:  Using the Salme Yoke Dress pattern, create a unique garment that reflects your personality. You can alter the pattern or add to the patterns to make it more you. Think of one or two words that describe you to inspire your look.  You will be judged on creativity, craftsmanship, fit, how well represented your description words are in your design, and difficulty.

Salme is an indie pattern company that offers digital patterns for women and children.  This particular one is a very simple and basic pattern making it so easy to change up.  I've never used any of her patterns so it was nice to try a new one.  I've been working on my garment to really make it my own.  I can't say how as I don't want to give anything away yet!  I'm halfway done with the challenge.  I plan to post the reveal on Monday, a day prior to when Fabric Mart will post all our entries.  I cannot wait to see how everyone works with this one!!

  1. Congrats on the win! your refashion was awesome. Can't wait to see the big reveal for this one.

  2. Wow! I really like that pattern! I looking forward to see it on you!

  3. Thanks Megan! It was a crap shoot with the whole dyeing process. I will say in round two I did not dye anything! It was an easy process but sooo time consuming, especially with my two year old son on my ankles the whole time :) But he WAS the one who chose the color dye, so he was so excited to see it get dyed.

  4. Thanks again!! I may have done some re-drafting and a little tweaking on this, even though I'd wear this design as is.
