Starry Tee for me, Fishy Shirts for some little guys
I got my new Burda Magazine in the mail yesterday (March '13) and am not nearly as excited about the patterns in it as I was with the Feb '13 issue. I made three garments from last month's collection.
And here is an instant replay of the raglan sleeve top I made a couple weeks ago (Burda 2/13 #127 which can be dowloaded, too.) This go round I shortened the sleeves and the hemline. This is the same fabric I used for my little guy's pajama pants recently. It's a 100% cotton knit (interlock, I think.) I'm sure it's meant for kids clothes but I love stars and actually bought this fabric to make a t-shirt for me. I just happened to have plenty for a tiny pair of toddler pants!
Speaking of my little guy... I made a couple of t-shirts, one for him and one for his equally adorable baby cousin. We are going to the National Aquarium this week and he said "I need an aquarium outfit". Of course! I used Figgy's Raw Edge Raglan Tee pattern (I actually didn't make it raw-edged.) I printed a couple of shark images from the National Aquarium's website and traced them to make some appliques. I used an organic 100% cotton jersey and a scrap of the modal rayon jersey from another Burda top I sewed from last month's issue. Toddler sized t-shirts are so fast and easy to make!

Oooh, I like the pleated details on the shoulder! Very profesh looking!
ReplyDeleteI love your new tee! I was so in love with that pattern, but sadly it was a fail for me - smallest size too large, and not great for broad-shouldered, small-busted girls anyway :-( I'll live vicariously through your makes!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great and I love the little star print!
ReplyDeleteShaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarks! Awesomesauce.
